I, for one, want to thank you for keeping Danielle in the news and hopefully- at some point- accountable for her actions. Keep on digging and reporting. People are seeing your work. Can’t wait to kick her down the road!
I hope it’s ok that I keep pounding her with facts from your reporting, it should be required reading for Albertan’s, especially since the silencing of journalists has already happened with The Breakdown. Keep it up please!
I do find it fascinating that people keep replying to me as an old out of touch grampa, gawd the assumptions. Educated, life experienced woman with a functioning brain, that’s all. 🙄
Yeah, that sucks. Never knowing who is behind a name, I became more mindful of addressing the idea/point rather than the person. I like to think it made my life easier.
I just read the CBC article on taxes on wine they are implementing. A ridiculous money grab at a time when we are trying to purchase local wines, just to put money in Danielle’s coffers. I want to see the proof that the money will "address industry concerns, improve equity within the system, and support the growth of Alberta's liquor manufacturing industry."
An added $23million annually is going in to the general provincial revenue.
That was added to direct from seller purchases because you’d pay the tax if it was in your local wine seller’s inventory.
I don’t begrudge liquor taxes because they do go to general revenues and help pay for things we aren’t willing to support through personal income taxes or a PST. Unfortunately, this was a move that fills a gap that otherwise wouldn’t be funding things we need to pay for.
That is absolutely not what Smith said. She put this in the budget, and is now saying she is using the money to support the liquor manufacturing industry. Maybe so, but how is this necessary or helpful right now? She is not in the least bit mindful of the tariff war.

Many thanks :)
Thanks for looking into this budget. I don't need more money spent in Edmonton Ice District. Bread not circuses.
I only did a very little — just happy to contribute :)
Except the close to a billion for Calgary’s arena district? Southern Alberta is what she knows, no support in the north.
Buying votes during elections is hard… unless it’s with everyone else’s money.

Love to hear it!
Everything will be privatized. She needs to resign.

Governor Smith.

Shameful.

This is the desk jockey’s version of a war correspondent, David. But it is far more enjoyable to me when they’re doing it to themselves, certainly :)
