Danielle Smith credits Florida fundraiser attendance for not changing influencer’s views

Why did Danielle Smith go to Florida to share a stage with Ben Shapiro? For the past two weeks, she and her caucus have claimed that it was so Ms. Smith could reach Ben Shapiro’s audience of 25 million and tell them tariffs are bad; the same audience that Mr. Shapiro has also been telling he thinks tariffs are bad since February.

Mr. Shapiro clipped the audio of the “fireside chat” and reposted it under his own podcast title the very next day, which had the Premier and her Chief of Staff patting their own backs because 25 million people would now have access to a Canadian Premier(e) saying exactly the same thing as Mr. Shapiro himself was saying!

Additionally, Mr. Shapiro and the Alberta Premier talked about how Canada should elect “solid allies” for Mr. Trump; a totally normal thing to go outside of your country during an election and do in a country whose leader is threatening your economic prosperity and sovereignty.

Her name is definitely gaining traction on the other side of the border, which I’m sure was the goal.
