I’m very confused at the suggestion that Carney and the Liberal Party are not focused on Trump.

They are, but they’re not necessarily reaching everyone. According to Coletto’s data, only 65+ is super focused on Trump. Under 65 is much less focused on him because they aren’t watching news, or seeking the info.

I linked to it at the beginning.

Might not be you — there was a lot in the middle and I might not have brought it back around enough :)

Regardless of how you get your news about the election (I disagree with the above comment that it’s all CPC, I see just the opposite…LPC and NDP are always showcased first) whoever wins has a huge, huge job ahead. With Carney keeping the same or similar cabinet in place, what will they do? They have only done damage to our economy, have not had policies that increase our GDP. Yes, Carney is convincing but I wonder if he can produce results. How to get resource projects approved with keeping C69 in place, how to attract that capital, how to toughen our catch and release laws, immigration, and the elephant in the room, our drug cartel problem. I don’t know if either prime minister candidate is up to the task.

You know it’s not actually a “no more pipelines law”. It’s more of an accountability framework because Alberta screwed itself by letting big companies break up bigger projects to sell to smaller producers who couldn’t cover environmental liabilities. The fact that the premier is still stumping for oil and gas over the people who will be left with the bill is a tragedy.

I’ve been toying with a post about how conservatives latch onto fears that are far less real than the actual problems we face. I think I should get on that.

Yes, agreed, it’s an accountability framework, but a much more complex approach with a major sticking point being that after going through all the consultation and planning and meeting all requirements, ministerial discretion could terminate the project. Who, in their right mind, in any kind of resource project would proceed with Gilbeau as the minister in charge. The bill effectively stopped oil, gas, mining etc. We have had 9 years of stagnant development.

I think the Liberals Re addressing the Trump problem BUT I also think that the media is playing the usual election game and blowing up Conservative criticisms -- no matter how wrong -- just because they are still locked into an easy anti-Liberal format. Carney is out there WITH journalists yet I turn on the TV and they're showing Poilievre again.

That's fair; but if under 65s aren't getting their info from cable television, the Liberals need to be advertising where they are.

That came from Coletto's deep dive:
