Thank you. Amazing work, and, sorry, I doubt many on the right will read it, but much appreciated. And I'm not trying to solicit for the NDP, but I signed their petition, and I felt better right away.

Great article Deidre - you must have a constitution of steel wading through all that wild-rose separtiste ick.

It’s probably best that I only realized it was a three-hour video today, after I had written out the third speaker, at which point I knew my brain needed a break. Then I checked the word count (it was over 4000), and saw there was still two hours left of the video and I was like “oh wow, there’s no way this can be a single post’… but at least I know what I’m writing all week 😏

Voting on something this critical that is based on lies and lack of details re the consequences is like watching a Looney Tunes cartoon with the road runner running off the cliff.

Separatist assumption: separation will be peaceful. My response: “Hell, no! No one is taking away my Canadian citizenship!”

Wonder what the maple magats will think when they find out Canada’s National Parks will not be part of any separation discussion. #BanffCanada

I remember way back (decades ago) reading in the newspaper in great detail the plans the Americans had drawn up to take Canada if the Bloc succeeded in separating. They were waiting with bated breath to attack us, battle plans drawn up just waiting to be executed. Premium Smith knows this. All politicians over 40 should remember this well. The era of the Bloc and the era of Harper were nearly the end of Canada. Premier Smith knows this. She is essentially threatening all of Canada with a military confrontation with the US if her demands are not met. There is absolutely no doubt that Trump is already strongly motivated to move in. He is using BC as a scapegoat for the American drug problem (they've always had a drug problem, and the drug fashion changes every few years so fentanyl won't be top dog for long). BC is the seat of evil that Trump contends he must take down. Alberta is his welcoming 51st state. That's two provinces to quickly fall to American attack. A protracted war begins from there. We've got a lot of work to do to remind Albertans that the income tax, GST and carbon tax they hate so much that they want to leave Canada was put on us by their Conservative party. Why they hate Liberals for the things that the Conservatives did to them is beyond anyone's guess. They're MAGA. Facts are not important, and they'll kill us anyway for their greed. Not very Canadian, at all!

I read a MSM media story today re Thomas L (ex MLA) who has submitted a request to Elections Alberta re the referendum question. He is a Canadian Albertan feeling strongly we need to have our voice.

Admittedly, I’ve been in the weeds since Monday with this one event so I haven’t read any recent news. I’ll go get caught up!

Getting flashbacks to Brexit with this bunch and I fear a concerted misinformation campaign could propel a ‘yes’ vote, with help from funding and foreign interference. My mother grew up in Montreal and has vivid (traumatic) memories of the FLQ crisis: the kidnappings, bombings, murder and troops in the streets that she is very worried about the same happening here, as she puts it there’s enough nuts with guns. Look to the Coutts blockade and what could have transpired and I don’t think it’s that far fetched.

Totally agree; I don't know that there would be any sort of "peaceful" transition because no matter what happens, some people are going to be very angry.
